With the fall coloring the leaves a yellow to match this guy’s shell, he was sure doing a great job blending in—I almost stepped on him because I didn’t see him at first! I decided to snap his photo—but apparently he’s kinda camera shy and retreated into his shell.

Though you can’t tell from this photo, I swear this spider was really quite big…like, probably the size of a quarter. Which, for suburban NJ, is pretty huge.
